Make the choice to view your cup as full rather than empty. We tend to focus on what we don't have, that we end up missing out on what we have. It is the little things in life that matters, a warm smile from a stranger, a sweet hug from a child. These are rewards that a price tag cannot be placed on. We can buy a new pair of shoe, or a brand new car and gain temporary happiness. This kind of happiness disappears very fast, because it does not contain any real substance, it does not bring you joy. Many complain that they are unhappy. Why, you may ask? The unhappiness arise from realizing that regardless of the amount of material possession one can attain, there is still a longing, a need that cannot be satisfied by these possessions.
The things of this life that are rewarding and brings satisfaction, cannot be bought in a store. It is often simple, and it is definitely free. It does not cost anything to love someone, or to give your available time to those who need it. When you willingly give of yourself to help others, you end up helping yourself. The next time you find yourself feeling unhappy or feeling like you don't know what your purpose here is, take a walk or a drive to a home for adults or disadvantaged kids. Sit with one person for a few minutes and just listen to them, or perhaps give them a hug or a smile. I guarantee doing so will impact you greatly, and you will leave feeling overwhelmed with purpose. Knowing and living our purpose, will give us reasons for living, it will make life rewarding and worth living.
In all the turmoil that is currently occurring around us, is small gestures of kindness. This kindness has the power to move us into a belief system that all is not lost. The kindness that envelopes the lives of so many of us is enough to touch other lives and to continually move us forward in a world that has seem to lost its way. The frightening state of the world has put many in a panic, it has placed them in a place of despair and an unknown future. But there is hope, a hope that comes from having faith in our Creator. This hope presents itself in those who believe that goodness and kindness still exists. The kindness and goodness that lives within our brothers and sisters is inspiring and encouraging. This kindness is needed in a world that has gone cold and hard, it is needed to help catapult our future generations into a world that is far better than what we are currently experiencing.
Each and everyone of us have it within our core to be kind and generous. To be loving, giving, and good to each other. We can change the path we are on, by thinking about each other and viewing ourselves as brothers and sisters, instead of enemies separated by religious views, race, cultural differences, and the rest. When we hate, we make the choice to do so. So we can equally make the choice to love. Forget about the differences and instead show solidarity by seeing each other for who we are, which is a human being. We were all born to a human mother, we eat to survive, we breathe, we sleep and one day we will all depart this life. Let us lift each other up in love, and forget that hate ever existed.
I believe knowledge is something we gain through our life
