The hate and violence we are experiencing today, has grown to this degree because we failed to see its potential to develop. When we fail to act with an urgency at the first onset of hostility, or anything that threatens our vulnerability and the sanctity of love that Our Savior has preserved for us; we end up as "wolves to the slaughter". We should not ignore vagrant wrong-doings by hoping or wishing them away.
We must stand up and stand firm for the foundations that Our Savior set for us. We must stand up for love, peace, equality, justice, and liberty for all. When we choose to ignore issues that affect "others", we all end up hurting in the end. A threat to one human is a threat to all of us. We may not feel the effect immediately, but eventually it trickles down. God created all of us for a reason. We may look different on the outside, and may have different thought processes, but in the end we are the same. We are HUMAN. We are all brothers and sisters in the eyes of Christ. We are His children. He created us in His own image. The choice to separate us based on race, color, religion, creed, etc., was not established by God. Our classification is man-made. Those of us who can love without borders or barriers must continue to pour out love. Let us not allow hate to conquer and create a calloused heart within us. There is unity in love, there is power in unity, and where we are united, Christ will be in our midst to bless us and deliver us from anything that endangers us. Regardless of our upbringing, we can make the choice to break any cycle of hate. We can stop the cycle by saying no more, and taking a step towards loving without any if's, and's, or but's. |
