Why do we continue to fight for separation and for the superiority of one race over another, when our life here is limited? The things we fight for the most are the ones we will never have. Just as our bodies do not belong to us, the earth and all its natural wonders do not belong to us. If our very skin was removed from our bodies, and we all looked visibly the same, would we continue to hate each other? Unfortunately, in a sinful world as this, the answer would be yes. We hate when we should love, we fight when we should be promoting peace, we cut down when we should be building up. We make decisions on who can be in our circles based on how someone looks, what their career is, what degree they have, what car they drive, etc. The people we reject the most often have the most common qualities to ours. We judge each other base on things that have no value or importance.
Qualities of a good person includes acceptance of others even when they look and act different than you and I. A good person loves others, shows compassion and kindness. A good person takes the time to care, to learn about and understand others. A good person is genuine. We were all born with a purpose, and I believe that purpose is to love our brothers and sisters, and to be each others keeper. Loving a person is not hard, but it often starts with loving yourself first. We all crave love, we need it. Our Creator created us out of love and that love is in each of our hearts whether we choose to make it visible and share it or not.
To those of us who are unafraid of loving others, let us start an avalanche of love. Let us pour it out on everyone we encounter. Say hello, how are you?, and wait for a response. Smile. Shake a hand. Give a lending hand to those who are struggling. Regardless of how limited our time here is, we can still take the time to invest our love into the hearts and mind of those who are starving for some. Let us use the barrage of hate to unify all with love. All the hate in the world cannot and will not outdo the love that is living in each of us. Love is natural. Hate is unnatural. Therefore, love will always win.
